Email notification per veaam cloud connect users

Hi,

Can we setup an email notification per Veeam cloud connect users in Veeam one? For example, we have 4 customers and I want them to individually receive an alarm notification (email) when they going run out of free space with their quota disk in the cloud repository.

Hi Rommel and welcome to the forums,

Yes, there is a "Cloud repository free space" alarm which warns if assigned cloud repository is low on available free space.
You can modify the alarm up to your needs, or create an independed alarm for each user and set your/user`s email addresses as the email notification target. Thanks!

Is Veeam One required to send clients notifications? I am looking to set this feature up, but currently do not have Veeam One set up.

Veeam ONE enables advanced capabilities for monitoring backup servers. Your clients can setup notification via their own Veeam backup console or you can use your installation of Veeam ONE to do that.

I would suggest asking for a trial key of Veeam ONE and then check out the notification engine you're after.

It looks like this looks at the repository space, not the quota limit. If I have a 50TB repository and a customer with a 5TB quota, that customer will never get a notification, even if they use their entire quota.

That's exactly the alarm I'm referring to. If I have a large repository and multiple customers with small quotas that all go there, the "Cloud repository free space" alarm will not trigger until the actual repository is getting full.

If you have a repository where tenants backup, for you it's a cloud repository for them, not for you. The alarm will work for backup servers with cloud repositories.

I see that you're a service provider, so you might want to review the alarming functionality on quotas (per tenant) in VAC > Appendix B. Alarms (search for "Company cloud storage quota" alarm)

The original question referred specifically to quotas, not the entire repositories. I already know that "Cloud repository free space" triggers on the repository, which is why I said that that doesn't answer the question about quotas.

I get 50+ alerts from VAC on a nightly basis because it thinks that every single agent has entered a disconnected state during the backup process (despite all of the backups completing successfully and the agents all showing as connected). If VAC is sending me any actual alerts, they're getting caught in the noise.

I understand it. In other words, the alarm works as it should and we will consider your post as a feature request to create alarms for service providers to be notified when tenants reach their quotas.
