Exclusions

Post by vmtech123 »

I was hoping there would be more granular choices, but I am also very new to the product and figuring it out.

I really enjoy the product so far, but I have a few questions that have come up and I can't find the answer to.

1) Can VeeamONE use a VMware folder for an exclusion to not monitor specific machines? As I add VM's to that folder I don't want to manually remove them from the Virtual Infrastructure View.

2) Can I create an exclusion for monitoring on a specific user account? Lets say I have a program that is doing a network scan with no password, It will trigger a bunch of alerts. I'd like to not be alerted on the user account. Even an exclusion based off of some of the description text of the alarm would work.

Thanks

Hello vmtech123,

It is possible to exclude by VMware folder. You need to create a business view category and use the exclusion rule to do that. I put everything on a screenshot

The second question is a bit unclear. Could you please provide a bit more details for better understanding? Alarms assignment is based on the infrastructure objects, not user accounts. If the state of the infrastructure object changes alarm is raised. The alarm doesn't know what was the user account that triggered an action.

Thanks

Just wanted to come back and say thanks for the tip on Business View.

I don't remember what I was trying to do in the second question at the moment.
