Failed to connect to the database

Post by sarapinho »

Hey guys.

I'm performing a new installation of Veeam One, but the Veeam One Reporting Service "Failed to connect to the database. Make sure the database is up, running, and accessible.", the rest of these services are all UP. The user is local to the sql server this is as db_owner of the database.

If I install SQL Express it works!

Has anyone had this kind of problem?

Thanks

Are you trying to connect to Full SQL Server? There is a script on the VONE installation media that you can run to pre-create the VONE DB in SQL and then point to that server if this helps.

Yes it is a full SQL Server, I ran the script before proceeding with the installation.

Might suggest using this utility for some troubleshooting as it allows for testing the connection - https://www.veeam.com/kb1592

Hello,
Might be related, https://www.veeam.com/kb2265 I remember doing this, and on my case it was the Named Pipes weren't configured, so please check every point on that article and let us know.

If you get stuck, please open a Support Ticket and share the support case here.

Thanks!

Thank you guys

I will review the points you sent me.

But the doubt remains, only the Veeam One Reporting Service service is not UP, the other services are OK.

Hello Ramos,
only the Veeam One Reporting Service service is not UP, the other services are OK.
In that case, please open a support case and provide case ID in this thread so we could collect all the additional details and investigate it accordingly.

Thanks

Hi Romank

No problem, as it's a POC I haven't opened a case in support yet, I found it faster to come here on the forum.

And in parallel we are analyzing the permissions on the sql server.

Thanks
