Guest Disk usage

Post by reiso22 »

Good day,
We are using VeeamBackup and VeeamOne installed on a Hyper-V host. For security reason the host is not part of the Active Directory domain. For the VM's we have created a domain credential which we use for "Guest OS Credentials" and we are able to connect to "Guest OS" in VeeamOne client.

Everything works fine, and we get performance information from the VM's. The only information missing from VeeamOne is the "Guest Disk Usage" of the VM's, where it shows "No data available". Within the "DataProvider_HyperV.log" we can see following entries for the VM: "ERROR Failed to create WMI invoker for user xxx\xxx", but the user mentioned in the error is the user used for connecting to the host, not the user we configured as OS credentials.

We are only able to get the "Guest Disk Usage" information when we create the same local user on the VM as used in "Connection Settings" for the Hyper-V-Host and add a registry value LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy = 1

Is that the expected behavior or do we miss something?

Thanks for any information.

Best regards
Michael

Hello Michael,

I made a search for the aforementioned message in the internal notes but, unfortunately, nothing was found.
The only known behavior for no-domain servers is listed here but it doesn't look like your case.

Please open a support case and provide a case ID in this thread so we could collect all the additional details and investigate it accordingly.

Thanks

Hello Brian,

The case above was closed too long ago and unfortunately I do not see any advanced information. I might be wrong but it seems it was closed by timeout without a solution.

Feel free to open another one and we'll sort it out.

Thanks

Hi Roman - I would really like to open a case, however we only have the Community Edition and our evaluation license has expired.
