Hi
Does anyone know of a way of reporting an alarm is someone resets the guest OS from within the Guest
I currently have an alarm set to send an email on the event substring 'reset ', if someone resets a guest via the VI Client the alarm fires and emails me
But if they are in the server ( 9/10 windows ) and clicks Start > Shutdown > Restart . I don't receive and alarm.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Guest Reboot Alarm
Rob, have you investigated if there are any vCenter event that appear during guest OS restart? Just be sure to use VIC to look for events instead of Veeam Monitor which does not pull all existing events from vCenter with the default settings (only most critical/imporant).

Re: Guest Reboot Alarm
Hi Gostev
Looking at the VIC ' Recent Tasks ' and Events nothing comes up when you reboot a guest via its own interface, Which is understandable as VIC doesn't has anything to do with it.
Im currently using SNMP alearts , Which works but I would of loved a set and forgot solution instead of having to create a new aleart every time a guest is created.
Thanks for your help though.
