Re: how to use veeam one to monitor vm or hyper v network connection
Hello apolloxm,
Nothing is required, add the virtual infrastructure to the monitoring and that is it.
There are two out-of-the-box alarms in Veeam ONE for vSphere and Hyper-V respectively.

Thanks

Hello apolloxm,
The alarm name is "Host connection failure". First, select the root node in the Alarm Management tree view and then use the search.
Thanks

This alarm only worked for Hyper-V host but not for VM. for the VM, there is an alarm VM power status, but this only work when VM was off.
I just tested to make the VM's network adapter to not connected. there is no alert was trigger. how can I make this happen?

Hello apolloxm,
Both alarms for VMware and Hyper-V are identical. The difference is only a data source. If it is not working properly please open a support case and provide case ID in this thread so we could collect all the additional details and investigate it accordingly.
Thanks

Hello Romank,
the ticket ID is 07231904 and your support team also confirmed that monitored VM network hosted on Hyper-V host option currently not available with Veeam ONE

Re: how to use veeam one to monitor vm or hyper v network connection
Hello apolloxm,
Monitoring the host network connection you asked about in the first post usually means that the host (as an object) returns the overall state: the network is connected/disconnected. This is covered by the "Host connection failure" alarms.
As far as I can see, in the support case, you've discussed monitoring VM Networks (network interface card as an object). These are different things.
For VMware, we do have the "Host NIC link status" alarm for the host physical network adapter state.
Hyper-V does not provide us with such objects to monitor. However, for Hyper-V, we get a lot of alarms using the events from the Windows event log. There is a chance that you have something in it and could create a custom event-based alarm. What is your current use case? Could you reproduce the issue? If yes, please check the WEL, most probably something is there.
Thanks
