Hyper-V Host Disks - no data available

Post by TGacs »

VeeamONE 9.5.0.3254
Hyper-V 2016 hosts w/direct-attached RAID arrays

When I look at Infrastructure View > {hyper-v host} > Disk, the chart and table below of disks are blank and below the chart it says "no data available".

The credentials seem to be OK, as they are domain admin and other tabs (Summary, Overall, CPU, memory, network, etc.) display data for the host.

The disks are direct-attached RAID arrays (Intel RAID controllers) on the hosts.

Oddly, the Disk stats for the B&R server (under Backup Infrastructure view) works correctly, and that box is the same model Intel server and RAID controller.

Have you modified the list of collected performance metrics?
If no, I would recommend to contact Veeam support team.
Thanks!

Thanks for providing the case number.
If you want to make a troubleshooting by yourself, I would check if metrics are shown at perfmon on the host and if yes if they are available from perfmon on Veeam ONE server.

Good call. While can load Logical & Physical Disk counters locally on the host into perfmon, if I try to pull those counters remotely from another host or from the VeeamOne server, I get "Can't load counters" for both Logical and Physical Disk counters, yet other counters like Processor, Memory, etc. can be pulled remotely from the host into perfmon.

Very puzzling.

Resolved!

After rebooting the affected hosts, VeeamONE now shows Disk statistics for the hosts, and remotely accessing the Disk counters in perfmon works also. Pending Windows updates were installed at the time of reboot, so it could have been a needed update, or more likely, it just needed a restart of services.
