Setting tolerance on a true/false type alarm

On the "Hardware Problems" alarm, is there a way to use the tolerance so that the alarm isn't repeated every X minutes? Basically, we just want one email if an alarm is triggered for a hardware problem type alert.

I don't think Tolerance parameter affects hardware alerts, but try setting very long repeat frequency instead (9999 minutes = 7 days), this would produce essentially the same result?
