storage connection redundancy failure not triggered

Post by EBoucq »

Hi,

Does anyone have encountered this situation where losing path redundancy to storage (SAN) triggers alarms in the vCenter events but nothing in Veeam One Monitor 9.5 ?

Thanks.

Hi Eric,

Veeam ONE does not repeat vCenter Server alarms, so this might be a possibility. However, depending on the exact error message, Veeam ONE might report on this situation "Storage connection redundancy failure". This alarm depends on the vCenter Server event that has been triggered.

Anyway, did this happen to you recently? Do you still have this record in the tasks/events historical data?

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,

Thanks for your reply.
I get an alarm like this one from the vCenter a few times a day:

Alarm Definition:
([Event alarm expression: Lost Storage Connectivity] OR [Event alarm expression: Lost Storage Path Redundancy] OR [Event alarm expression: Degraded Storage Path Redundancy] OR [Event alarm expression: Lost connection to NFS server])

Event details:
Lost path redundancy to storage device naa.60060e80223a820050413a8200000000. Path vmhba3:C0:T2:L20 is down. Affected datastores: S1_VSPG200_R10.

No sign of incident in Veeam One though...

Regards,
Eric

Eirc, can you compare Veeam ONE Monitor tasks & events tab on the vCenter Server and vSphere Client indicating this alarm? Can you post two screenshots to see if there were any events captures by Veeam ONE or not? If the event was captured, then it would be possible to create this alarm in your deployment.
