Veeam SQL Transaction log failure Alerting
Hi
We have configured the the SQL Tlog application aware processing for an Physical SQL server. The job is configured to take the Tlog backup every 30 minutes and truncate the log
We are seeing few failures during the Tlog schedule which runs every 30 min. But this is not being alerted/shown in the failure job status console.
We were able to monitor the Parent job failure with veeam one alerting. Is it possible to configure the alerting for the Tlog failure also..
Your inputs are appreciated.
Regards
Raj

Hi Raj,
There is no such alarm in the predefined list, but we have this predefined report that you can schedule to be run on daily basis to review your SQL job stats. Will this help in your situation?
Thanks!

We have so many SQL Servers and its tough verify each job status as success or failure.
would be great if we can integrate this tlog failure alerting in veeam one Monitoring. .

I don't have access to the lab right now, but we might have an option to create these alarms. I just need to check if the corresponding event is triggered or not. I will post back tomorrow as soon as I get to the office.

Re: Veeam SQL Transaction log failure Alerting
Ok, confirmed that there is no way to achieve that today. SQL Server jobs (Tlog) do not generate any event that can be used in the alarm creation. We will discuss it with the B&R team and will ask them to add this in our next releases.

These jobs now generate an event in the backup server Windows Event Log, but there is no predefined alarm for this yet. This FR is still logged for our next updates.

Rajesh,
BTW, there is no need to wait for the next release to have alerting functionality on these types of jobs. After reviewing this closely with our QA team, you can try to create this alarm even today. Just specify the event name in the rule (event-based), assign it to the backup server and you should be all set.
Here is a screenshot of the proposed rule configuration: http://prntscr.com/mjnn2y
Hope this helps!
