Windows Services Monitoring Display Name vs Service Name

Post by ecar13 »

Started creating custom alerts to notify me if a critical Windows Service goes down. (For example, the Exchange Information Store service on my Exchange Server).

In Veeam ONE when you click on a server and then click on the Services tab, you'll see a list of all Services running on that server.

HOWEVER ...
What you see here is the often cryptic Service name (wuauserv) instead of the Display name (Windows Update). Unless Veeam developers think we should all memorize the cryptic service name abbreviations I would like to request that you show the proper, human-readable service name just as it appears in the Services Control Panel in Windows.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for the feature request. We'll add a Display Name column in future product versions.
