backup appliance deployment : failed to obtain an IP address

Post by EBoucq »

Hi,

I'm trying to a deploy a proxy and although I don't use any DHCP and set an IP, I'm getting a "failed to obtain an IP address for the VM c64xxxx" during the process and the installation fails.
Any explanation ?
Thanks !

Eric.

It'd be best to open a case with support for troubleshooting the issue you're seeing

As @ronnmartin61 mentioned above work with support. One thing you can try is to ping the ip address to see if it is not already in use. Besides that check your IP, subnet Mask and gateway address. Also make sure you are selecting the correct network on the AHV node :D .

Thanks for your reply. I was trying to set an IP while deploying the proxy. Apparently you HAVE to use DHCP to make it work. It's all good now.

@EBoucq I deployed with a static IP address. You must be selecting a network switch with IPAM configured for automatically giving VMs IP address. I am glad you sorted things out :D .
