Hi,
I'm trying to backup some Debian VMs without NGT.
Is there a chance to deactivate VSS ability as the Tools are not used?

Re: Backups without VSS
Hi Florian,
Without NGT, Nutanix will take crash-consistent snapshot of said VM and Veeam will perform backup using it without any problems met(we will not use VSS).
If you want application-consistent snapshots, you have 2 options:
- be compliant with Nutanix NGT requirements for guest consistency (application consistency falls on NGT shoulders)
- use Veeam Agent for Windows\Linux to backup said VM (application consistency handled by Veeam Agent and falls on Microsoft VSS or (linux) consistency scripts in the job). Your Veeam Availbility for AHV license allows you to use Veeam Agents for AHV machines at no cost.
/Cheers!
