Changing the host name of Veeam AHV Appliance

Post by Tos »

Hi

Our customer have question.
Is it possible to change hostname of Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV after deploying ?

When we login to Veeam AHV Appliance from Prism console and run the following command, we can change hostname of Veeam AHV Appliance.
---------
hostnamectl set-hostname "NewHostname"
---------

Could Veeam support this way ?

Let me know.

Hi Toshihiro!

I wouldn't expect any issues at the level of our software after changing a hostname of AHV appliance however you may create a snapshot to provide a possibility of rollback and make sure there are no running backup jobs prior to perform this change.

By the way, it would be interesting to know what is the reason to change a hostname?

Thanks!
