Configure AHV cluster in Veeam B&R 12.0.0.1420 and AHV-plugin 12.0.4.1020 ...
Hi guys,
I came across installing VBR 12.0.0.1420 and the new AHV-plugin 12.0.4.1020 and to me there is something new, which wasn't necessary in earlier versions ...
https://imgpile.com/i/d6krBM
https://imgpile.com/i/d6kVM2
Unfortunately I am uncertain what kind of iSCSI Data Service IP I should use here. Is it a free IP address from the same subnet, where the Virtual IP is located?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Didi7

Hi Didi7
It‘s the ISCSI Data Services IP Address you have to configure in your Nutanix environment:
https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documen ... -wc-t.html
And it was always a requirement for our solution to work.
Please check the configurarion in your Nutanix AHV cluster settings. Is the iSCSI data service configured?
You must use a free ip address from the same subnet as the cluster Controller VM network interface addresses.

Hello Fabian,
I used Nutanix AHV Plugin v1 and v2 (and I am quite sure v3 as well) and I never configured an iSCSI Data service IP. Whether it was a necessity or not. In our environment it worked without it.
It is not configured in any of our AHV clusters. I fiddled with Filesystem Whitelists IPs, where we use NFS direct storage backup in one of our Nutanix cluster, where VMware is used as a hypervisor, but that's another story.
So a free IP address from the same subnet, where the cluster IP address or the CVM IPs are located, is the correct answer.
Regards,
Didi7

Yes. Please use an unused ip address from the same subnet as your cluster ip address/controller VM IPs.Is it a free IP address from the same subnet the cluster ip address is located
Please see the user guide from Nutanix about this ip address:
https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documen ... ess-c.html
Best,Should be in the same subnet as the cluster Controller VM IP eth0 network interface addresses

Thanks for the clarification! I was unsettled by the fact that you get several warning screens in the documentation of Nutanix and as soon as you enter the ISCSI Data Service IP.
The cluster is added now.
Thanks

Ok, something to add here ...
Congratulations to Veeam by finally fixing the problems with deploying the Proxy Appliance to a Nutanix-Cluster.
I tested v1, v2, v3 and in all these versions the deployment of the Proxy Appliance caused hassles.
This time it worked flawlessly.
