Hi all,
Recently one of our customers had migrated from VMWare to Nutanix AHV. We got some big hiccups when we attempted data recovery tests. Only in-place Guest File restore is available. Out-of-place restore isn't available at all (in both backup appliance and Veeam Console).
In the backup appliance only 'VM Restore' and 'Disk Restore' options are available. Thought they'd give same restore options as the Veeam console.
Nutanix AHV doesn't even show up under 'Files' (bottom left pane option). Thought maybe visible in the
Enterprise Manager can collect data from Backup Servers, but it doesn't show the Nutanix AHV backup jobs. Also doesn't show the backed up AHV VM's. Can't use the Enterprise manager, even for data recovery.
Not a lot of data recovery options are available for Nutanix AHV as it is for VMWare.
Are any actions currently being taken, so we can get those granular level options for Nutanix AHV VM's backups?

Re: Data Recovery - Missing options
We are aware that instant disk restore is a current delta vs. VMware restore functionality (though this is on our radar for enhancing) and you're correct that there is no AHV backup job visibility in Enterprise Manager however a full range of restore options is available for AHV https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/u ... tml?ver=13 including out of place file-level restore. If guest filesystem indexing is enabled in the AHV backup job file-level restore will then be available via Enterprise Manager as well. If there are other specific restore options you believe are missing please le us know.
