Case #07448553 — Deploying Nutanix AHV worker, testing fails.
Has anyone been able to successfully deploy additional workers with Veeam 12.2 ?
My embedded worker is working fine, but when I deploy a new worker on the same Vlan as the embedded one, it fails with this message:
Error Failed to establish connection between the worker and cluster: Unknown socket error

Re: Deploying worker with Veeam 12.2 testing fails
Hi Arngrimur,
Thank you for sharing the details and sorry to hear that there are challenges. Quite a few users were able to successfully deploy workers with 12.2, and based just on the error posted above and in the case, looks like this may be an environmentally specific networking issue.
I can see that Veeam Support updated the case just a bit ago informing that the case has been assigned and looks like the Engineer should have a more substantial update soon with their analysis -- please continue with Veeam Support on the case.
Thanks!

Re: Deploying worker with Veeam 12.2 testing fails
Hi all,
I just found the same error when deploying the Veeam workers, and the required ports already opened.
Any idea for this issue?
Thank and regards.

@ryand22 in the case above it was due to Nutanix API request timeouts but there's of course no good way to troubleshoot here. Best to open a support case...

Re: Deploying worker with Veeam 12.2 testing fails
I just gave up, I don't have time to be the man in the middle between Veeam and Nutanix to troubleshoot this. I have other more important issues to fix.
As I explained in my support case my Nutanix AHV proxy is working fine, but then when I try to deploy a worker to the SAME VLAN as the Nutanix AHV proxy it fails.
That make no sense to me, the Nutanix AHV proxy and the worker have same port requirements but Veeam support conveniently ignores that.
