Migrate Backups AHV NFS to Object
Howdy All,
Long time, first time, at least I think.
So what are good options for migrating my 90 days of Disk backups from our old NFS file share to our new Object repository (object first)
We've migrated the hardware, mapped the "old" server as a repository and i'm currently running backups to that location, still. Now, we need to move the backup chains to the new repository, and i'm at a loss. Looks like Veeam Move does not work with AHV, disappointing. I'm hoping its not "start new chains" and keep old server on ice.
Other thoughts? TYIA.

Re: Migrate Backups AHV NFS to Object
@Shan Intrepid correct the move backup between jobs is currently not supported for AHV however it is on our radar for the future. From the sounds of it it seems like you've already started new backup chains on the new repository but I may not be reading it correctly. A repo-level move might have been an alternative here by adding the new repo to a SOBR containing the NFS-based repo, putting the NFS repo in maintenance mode and evacuating backups to the new object based extent

Re: Migrate Backups AHV NFS to Object
No, we haven't started backup chains -- the old server needed to go away, so I just attached the iSCSI NFS target to the new server and I have them running there for now. I may try the repo move -- right now support is kicking it around between the first level support and the AHV specific support.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Added the NFS and Object to SOBR, put NFS into maintenance and now it tells me "no extents to evacuate to"...... putting this in the support ticket.

Best to work it through support...
