Nutanix vSphere

Post by stuart_little1874 »

Folks, I appreciate that this forum is specific to AHV but does anyone have experience with Veeam, Nutanix and vSphere that they can share?

Working with Veeam we have a solution where we plan to use VM Snapshots and dumping Veeam formatted files to a VM\Repo.

The question I have is can we integrate vSphere and AHV\Protection domain? If we can't, does anyone know if we can reclaim the space that is allocated to the Protection domain and use that as our repository ?

I'm not certain I understand your question but yes you can use Nutanix Protection Domains with VMware on Nutanix to give you additional VM RPO. Nutanix snapshots "live" at the storage container level and you cannot directly address a container with Veeam however you can reclaim snapshot space by deleting a Protection Domain.
