Hi,
We are fast approaching getting the Veeam/Nutanix solution moved to production - everything is working as expected, but I've been looking for a solution to list all VMs *without* a valid backup. Either because it's not included in a scheduled backup job or because the job failed.
Particularly those VMs that aren't part of a backup job (either specifically chosen or because of a missing catagory.
Looking in the Veeam console I see all the VMs in the inventory view, so I guess it should be possible to pull that info and combine it with a get-vbrsession to filter for VMs without a recent backup?
Sincerely
Mikkel

Re: Report of VMs without backup
Sure.
You can get VMs from a cluster or PC as $VMs
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/references ... als_GetVms
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/references ... ers_GetVms
After that get list of "protected VMs" (VMs which have restore points, but not necessarily exist on hypervisor) as $ProttectedVMs
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/references ... alMachines
Filter those which have #backups > 0 - save as $vmsWithABackup
And, finally, remove $vmsWithABackup from $VMs
The remaining list of VMs should represent "VMs without backup"

Hello Mikkel,
Have you gave Veeam ONE a try? We have an specific report that does exactly this:
* https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/r ... ml?ver=120
Also we have APIs to retrieve this information within Veeam ONE, plus a few other reports like Workload Protection History for Audit and Compliance in the long term, historical reports.
Please let us know

Re: Report of VMs without backup
Hi,
I appreciate the snap responses, but I've not had time to look into it yet.
Pretty sure the end customer doesn't have a Veeam One subscription. Unfortunately.

VeeamONE is fantastic for generating reports like this, if you want to do it yourself PowerShell is always an option.
