Hello Apollo

Default size is always 1MB (Job Setting --> Storage Optimization).
Larger sizes may save you money on API calls, but incremental backups will use more space (1.5-2.5x larger with 4MB). I recommend to keep the default.

Hello Fabian,

Thanks for your reply! I only can see the default size on the backup jobs. I cannot see the default size on the backup copy jobs. also. there is a little difference between V11a and V12 for the default size.
in V11a. I can see local target was showed on the storage optimization. in V12, i can see the 1MB on the storage optimization.

Thanks!

Hi Apollo

Local target was always 1MB. We have updated the UI to display the block size instead of the title:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... timization
- Local target (large blocks) --> 4 MB
- Local target --> 1 MB
- LAN target --> 512 KB
- WAN target --> 256 KB
I only can see the default size on the backup jobs. I cannot see the default size on the backup copy jobs.
Yes, you are right. The copy job uses the same block size as the copied source job.
