Retention settings for Scale-Out Repositories, limit capacity tier

Post by KoflerTx »

Hi,

we are running a scale-out repository with retention of 30 days on all jobs (immutable also 30 days).

Now we got the new requirement, that the capacity tier should only store the latest 7 restore point and only the performance tier all 30 (both immutable).

Can that be achieved with changing the scale-out repo or do we need to rebuild it via direct backup to object storage as we are running V12?

Thanks in advance

Thomas,

When using a SOBR with a performance tier and capacity tier, the retention is the same for both tiers.

You might want to consider using a Backup Copy Job and make the copy's retention different than the original backup's.

Hope this helps.
