V12 - Move Capacity Tier backups out of SOBR
In nearly all of my v11 deployments, I am using SOBR to backup locally and sending a copy to Wasabi for Immutable offsite storage.
As I upgrade to v12, I would like to eliminate SOBR, have 2 independent repos, and a backup job + backup copy job.
Is there any way to "move" backups from a Capacity tier ( Wasabi, in this case ) out of the SOBR and into another Repo WITHOUT having to download and reupload all of the restore points?
The sticking point is that some of the implementations I have are 3tb+ and downloading/re-uploading isn't feasible.

Hello,
no, capacity tier data cannot be mapped to backup copy jobs.
Best regards,
Hannes

Ugh. So literally no *easy* way to migrate the points stored there?

I didn't get where do you plan to move the backups to? From Wasabi to where?NorthGuard wrote: ↑Mar 17, 2023 1:19 pm Ugh. So literally no *easy* way to migrate the points stored there?

Re: V12 - Move Capacity Tier backups out of SOBR
Veeam treats a SOBR differently from a "standard repository."
Currently, my SOBR consists of a local storage device and Wasabi. But because it is a SOBR, Veeam is storing the data differently than how it would store the data if they were standard repos.
I want to move the bacukps out of the SOBR into standard repos without triggering full backups, but it apparently isn't possible due to how Veeam treats SOBRs vs standard repos.

Re: V12 - Move Capacity Tier backups out of SOBR
You would need to move all of the backups to the performance extent of the SOBR prior to attempting to move the backups to new repos. That's what I think since if the backup files are spread between the performance and capacity extents, you need to have the full chain in 1 or the other extent...
