Amazon KMS and Veeam

Post by agodoo »

Hello,
I have a doubt and I'm not able to find nothing in the documentation.

Considering a scale-out with AWS S3 object storage.
Does Veeam use in any way the KMS AWS Service to encrypt data in the S3 bucket?

Regards,
Matt

Currently VBR does not support KMS for S3 repositories. we do encrypt traffic and you can use veeams password based encryption as well

Hi agodoo,

but you can configure S3 bucket to have all data encrypted @ rest. And use AWS provided KMS key or your generated one.
Don't need to do anything on Veeam side.
