need to know data flow when offloading data from performance tier to capacity tier (AWS/Azure)
is it
Performance Storage tier - > Cloud
or
Performance Storage tier - > VBR Server -> Cloud
i believe we dont need backup proxy for offloading data ?

The performance tier extend does the offload directly to the object storage. In case it‘s a shared folder repo or a dedup appliance (data domain, storeOnce), the gateway server does the offload.
And if I remember correctly, for a hardened repository, the VBR server will do the offload.
If you want to choose a dedicated server for the offload, you can configure one with „Use the following gateway server“ in the object storage properties:

The pro is, you can control which server needs access to the internet.
The con I see is, that the entire traffic will first be send to another server in your environment before getting offloaded.
