Azure BLOB for NAS Backup
We have 50TB of unstructured SMB NAS file data to backup to Azure Blob as a secondary backup. Which form of Azure storage is likely to provide sufficient performance? Standard v Premium? Cold v Hot?

Any of these should provide sufficient performance really... we test mostly on Standard.

Re: Azure BLOB for NAS Backup
Thanks Gostev
The price difference between hot and cold is significant so we'd probably try cold first.
Also - the Helper appliance...:
1. How can I work out how much that VM will cost me (i.e. instance type and how long it will be running?)
2. Wasabi HOT is cheaper than Azure Hot (but maybe not Azure Cold). How do they create the Helper and is it included in Wasabi cost?

Re: Azure BLOB for NAS Backup
1. The helper appliance cost are negligible comparing to blob storage costs. It's not even running all the time but only on as-needed basis.
2. We don't so it won't work as well with Wasabi because backup objects rebuild operations will have to loop through your backup infrastructure.

re: (2)
The documentation implies there is a helper for Wasabi
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
"The helper appliance is a temporary host that Veeam Backup & Replication deploys on your Wasabi Cloud object storage storage to perform a health check of backup files and apply retention to unstructured data backup files"

That would be a copy/paste error by technical writers.
