Backing up Amazon S3 data

Long shot... we have a new service storing files on Amazon S3. Is there any way to get B&R to backup this data on-premises?

Perhaps if you use the AWS Storage Gateway to expose S3 storage as "local disk" to a Windows or Linux server, you could do it. If that's done to a VM in AWS then you could use the appropriate agent (VAL or VAW) to back it up, or you could back it up locally with VBR if you did it with an on-premises VMware or Hyper-V VM.

HOWEVER... getting all that data on-premises is going to be a lot of data going out of S3, and that's likely going to be very expensive. Honestly the best way to back it up if you want to protect the data somewhere would be to back it up in AWS but even there you'd have to contact Amazon to make certain that's not consider data going out.

The business doesn't want that data in a single cloud vendor, irrespective of whether AWS can host in in different global locations, accounts, zones, etc. Luckily it's not very large data. We're looking at Cloudberry Lab backup software which might fit the bill, but was just interested if Veeam could do something. Understand you suggestions above, so thanks.
