We have Veeam Backup and Replication Enterprise V10 running a VMware backup in forever forward in an extent on a server in our Corporate offices on a proxy server. We have a replication job that creates replicas in an extent in a DR site that is running the management server. We would like to leverage AWS S3 for backup retentions to meet our compliance requirements. We tried creating a SOBR using our current extents but get a message that they cannot be used because they hold backup data. "Unable to add extent xxxx because it contains one or more backup files which are not supported in a scale-out backup repository."
What can we do to be able to save weekly, monthly and yearly backups to AWS S3 using the DR site Internet connection.

Re: Backup Retetions to AWS S3
Create a new repository on your backup storage (in a different folder) and change your replication job to use this repository for replica metadata.
