Can't add S3 bucket as a scale out
So I am trialing Veeam, I want to add an S3 bucket as a scale out. I was able to connect to my S3 bucket and add it to the External Repos. However, when I go to add it as as scale out, there is no option to select it. Is there something I am not doing right?

Re: Can't add S3 bucket as a scale out
Hello Vincent
Welcome to the forum.
External Repositories are not used as a part of a scale out repository. You use them to copy backups created by one of our Veeam Backup for Public Cloud products (AWS, Azure, GCP) to a Veeam Backup & Replication repository.
You must add your S3 bucket as normal object storage and then add it in the performance or capacity tier step of your SOBR:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
Or point your backup job directly to the object storage repository. A SOBR is not mandatory anymore in V12.
Please note, a VUL license or at least Enterprise Edition with socket based licensing is required to write backups to object storage.
If you are running a POC, you can download a trial license which has enterprise plus functionality enabled.
Best,
Fabian

Correct. I added it as a backup repository. I can't select it as a destination for any of the backup jobs.

You wrote, you have added it as an „external repo“. That‘s not the same as „backup repository“.
Can you confirm which wizard you have used? Maybe share a screenshot.
