Compression on SOBR Capacity Tier

Post by mix »

Hello everyone,

in our company we are evaluating to purchase a new Object Storage in order to use it as Capacity Tier for our SOBR Jobs. I looked around but did not found anything clear that explains if I can use Dedupe or Compression features natively from the Object Storage itself (I know that already Veeam does compression)?

Thanks & Regards,
Jürgen

Hi, Jürgen. You can enable it, but it won't be effective because Veeam dedupes and compresses all data offloaded to the object storage already. I'm considering to add an ability in future releases to disable our own dedupe and compression for such cases if demand is high, but this won't be available in v10. Thanks!
