Confused with retention, restore points, operational window.

Post by CaliMSP »

Hi
Config
v12
Got SOBR - local and cloud object with immutability
Type: Incremental + active full on Friday,
Schedule: Mon-Fri (5 days a week)
Retention policy: 45 days (how far back we want to go)
SOBR: Copy and Move enabled
Move backup files older than: 21 days

Problem
The problem is that I'm seeing only 15 days in Performance and 34 days stored in Capacity.

Question 1
What have I configured incorrectly that is causing us not reach 45 days
Question 2
why does it cap locally at 15 and 34 in object?

Hi - you should investigate this with our support, we cannot guess the reason why the desired settings are not respected by SOBR over forum posts. But it's not a known issue at the moment. Thanks!

Do you maybe mean you can see 15 restore points when you say you only have 15 days?

- 21 days operational restore window minus the weekends would be 15 restore points. (21 days - 3 weekends without backups = 15 restore points)

- 45 days minus the weekends would be 33 restore points. (45 days - 6 weekends without backups = 33 restore points)

Best,
