Deleting from backups from Cloud taking ages

Post by m.costantino »

Hi to all!
I need to delete backups from Cloud but it's taking a very long time.
Deleting a job of 240gb took 7 hours, now i'm trying to delete a 3TB job...48h and nothing happened except that I can see that some files have the "modified" date changing (I can see this in the "Files" section).

Why it's taking so long time? Does it depends on the speed of the connection? (really strange)

Any help is really appreciated!

Hi Michele,

Just to confirm, you're discussing deleting backups that are stored in an Object Storage repository, correct? The connection speed itself is not really relevant as there's no need to move the data back locally to delete it; if it is an Object Storage repository, it's possible this could be non-ideal performance on delete operations from the S3 side, but will be difficult to assess in full over the forums.

Please open a Support Case as is noted when creating a topic and allow Veeam Support to review the situation. Be sure to include logs for Support to review, and mention the repository in question for Support to review.

Please share your case number here once created, thanks!
