Feature Request: Add Decimal to Object Storage Consumption Limit

Post by JulianBlue »

For very small business it would be nice to be able to set the Limit of Object Storage Consumption with one decimal.
Eg: Being able to set limit to 1,8 or 1,9 TB for a customer with 2 TB of paid object storage.
It happens often that the consumption calculated by object storage provider is slightly more than the one calculated by Veeam.
And for 2,0001 TB the provider bills 3TB.

Or allow to specify the limit in GB, leaving TB as the default.

Thanks.

Your request may be due to lack of understanding how this limit works today. If you read its description, it's already a soft limit that will ALWAYS be exceeded if a user runs into it, so this sort of added precision makes absolutely no sense in principle.

User Guide says:
Select the Limit object storage consumption to check box to define a soft limit for your object storage consumption.
If this limit is exceeded during a job run, Veeam Backup & Replication will complete the job.
However, a new job will NOT be able to start unless you remove the extra data that exceeds the limit or change the soft limit settings. Provide the value in TB or PB.

This soft/hard limit is good enough for me.
