Force Immutability on Old Restore Points

Post by DanCasan »

Hi all,
in our environment we have a Wasabi OBJ Repo as a backups target. The initial configuration of this repo is to have immutability for 90 days, i was recently asked to increase from 90 days to 180. Is there a way to apply the new configuration to the old backups as well?

Thank You.

There is no way to extend the immutability period on already created immutable restore points unless you migrate or copy the data from one repository or extent to another. However, in such a case, the original restore points will still remain on the old repository until the end of the previous immutability period.

Additionally, please keep in mind that our current immutability model works at the checkpoint level (state of a backup chain within a certain period of time), which protects data for a longer duration.

Thanks!
