full backups to archive
To archive files into an archive tier is the GFS retention a must? If I have a backup job forward incremental, with a simple retention and without GFS, is it possible archive the fulls in the archive tier? Does it make sense?

Re: full backups to archive
No, as you Exported and VeeamZIP backups are also part of archiving job.To archive files into an archive tier is the GFS retention a must?
No, it is not. Full backups that are part of current backup chain represent regularly accessed data, while Archive Tier has been designed specifically for restore points that are accessed infrequently (if ever). If I have a backup job forward incremental, with a simple retention and without GFS, is it possible archive the fulls in the archive tier?
Thanks!
