Hi,
I am currently planning a deployment with NFS Share as a backup target and Object Storage for the capacity tier.
Current requirement is to have about 40TB of performance tier storage.
Over the next couple of years they might grow to about 200TB of required performance tier storage.
When I configure today the 40TB NFS Share how can I expand that in a year or two? I cannot expand the share itself.
Can I just add another NFS Share and let new backup jobs for new VMs point to the new share?
What happens if the current jobs reach limit of the 40TB NFS share?
AFAIK with SOBR I can move old backups to object, but I need at least backup data amount of the first week or so on the performance tier.
Thanks for your assistance
Sascha

Re: How to grow a NFS repository environment?
Create a Scale-out Backup Repository and add current NFS share as its extent. When I configure today the 40TB NFS Share how can I expand that in a year or two? I cannot expand the share itself.
When needed, you will add new share as new extent and new backups will be written to it. You can even move some backups from old share to new share manually to balance the load equally.
I recommend you getting familiar with this user guide section, should clarify your questions. What happens if the current jobs reach limit of the 40TB NFS share?
Thanks!
