Migration from Azure Capacity tier to Wasabi
Ive got a handful of clients that are wanting to get migrated off of their existing SOBR, with a local performance extent, an azure capacity tier extent. We will be migrating to Wasabi. I've used Wasabi's cloud sync manager service before to move 100tb of data azure object storage to wasabi, and then was able to successfully sync of their data after selecting the wasabi repository as the new capacity tier. Wasabi currently however has a minimum of 25tb for the service, and I've got some clients with 10-20tb of data I need to accomplish this as well. I realize I can download the capacity tier to the performance extent, then reupload to wasabi, but by doing so, we would lose all the compression, so 18tb of data in azure bloats to 76tb of data on the performance extent. Thus, I need more local storage to accomplish this, as well as all the extra time and bandwidth utilized to do the migration. Are there any other options out there to accomplish this?
Also, I would love to get off the SOBR due to these issues and just have a backup copy job instead of the sobr offload.
I would even be happy with having a static copy moved over, then starting a new backup copy chain directly to wasabi, but would need to get their old backups at least statically on wasabi.
Thanks

"18tb of data in azure bloats to 76tb of data on the performance extent"
What makes you think so? Are you using an on-prem storage without block cloning?

Re: Migration from Azure Capacity tier to Wasabi
When I go to download the capacity tier to performance tier, it tells me I need 76tb available. The total usage in azure is 18tb. When I look at backup properties of the capacity tier , the data size is 18tb, but the backup size is 76tb.

I bet the warning was created way before VeeaMover times (just search the document for VeeaMover) and was never updated to its realities.

The current local repository was created before refs was a thing, so its ntfs, hence why its probably not utilizing all the features refs gives.
