Hello,
We are planning to use Object First as our Primary Backup Target. We did a a testing job retention policy set to 3days and Object First repository immutable days set to 5 days. We created the jobs on the 1/26/2026. when I tried to deleted the file from disk in the Veeam it said that keep immutable until Feb 10,2026.
My questions.
Base on the Object First answer immutability is made up 3 times:
Job Retention(3 days)+ Object First Repo(5 Days)+ Veeam Block Gen (10 days)= Totally 18 days
But my testing result is 15 Days. Object First Repo(5 Days)+ Veeam Block Gen (10 days)=15 days.
Can someone help to answer what is the real immutable days?
My understanding:
the retention is Job Retention(3 days)+ Object First Repo(5 Days)+ Veeam Block Gen (10 days)= Totally 18 days
the immutable days should be Object First Repo(5 Days)+ Veeam Block Gen (10 days)=15 days.
also Object First calculator also provided the information made me confused

Re: Object First as Primary Backup Target
Hi Apollo
Is it possible that you’re on version 13? The formula for “direct to object storage” backups changed in v13.
V12 Help Center:
Best,
Fabian

V12 Help Center:
- job retention policy + immutability period + Block Generation period
- minimum immutability period + Block Generation period
- job retention policy + Block Generation period
Can you point me to where you saw this statement?Base on the Object First answer immutability is made up 3 times
