Object Tier - Scheduling

Post by chris.childerhose »

Just a quick question - when you set the schedule for the Object Tier (example - 7PM to 8AM) does the schedule take affect right away or are the services required to be restarted?

I ask as I need to schedule my Oject Tier jobs to run on off hours as it affects our internet connection there making performance very bad and this is the best way around that.

Right away.

And if you want to manually start capacity tier activity at any time, Ctrl+right click the Scale-out backup repository and select "Run Tiering Job Now".

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I restarted the service anyway just in case.

Unless you change something via registry, you don't need to restart backup services. It never harms, though, to be on the safe side :)
