Which extent are you talking about? Performance or Capacity one?

Re: Offload in seal mode
I think he is referring to the performance extent when it is in Sealed Mode.

Re: Offload in seal mode
From what I am reading it seems like if you Seal a performance extent then it will not be included in the Offload process. Based on this page - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
"When putting a performance extent into the seal mode, you will still be able to restore, merge and remove data without exiting this mode."
To me this means that Veeam needs to keep the data in the extent for restore, merge and aging out so offloading would not be available. I will try to get this confirmed.

Re: Offload in seal mode
One of the goals of the Seal functionality was to restrict all I/O intensive activity on the extent, as the storage may have been sealed because it is "dying" (causing it to operate in degraded mode). So if this idea was followed through, then sealed extents should not be included in the Offload process.

Re: Offload in seal mode
Hi guys,
Sorry for the delay. Ii have and performance extend that i want to decomission.
I want to avoid sending new backup to it, but continue to offload the Data. When all data will reach the Offload policy and that they will all be moved to Azure i will be able to evacute the backup without transfering hundred TB of Data.
is it something possible? And also i want to keep this repo available for restore during this time.
Thank you

Yes, looks like this is exactly how it works now. I've been told sealed extents are in fact included in the offload process.
