Question about GFS possibilities offloading to Wasabi

Post by skaanbarry »

Hello all,

I'll quickly explain our current Veeam setup:
1) Backup to IBM storage
2) Copy to a hardened Linux repository
3) Offload to Wasabi cloud

We are using SOBRs with the local storage repositories and the Wasabi bucket.

I am worried about the amount of volume getting shipped to Wasabi. Currently all our daily backups are getting offloaded to Wasabi , which isn't quite necessary.

Is it possible to only offload the GFS restore points to Wasabi ( 4 weeklies each month, 12 monthlies each year, and the yearly ) ?

Curious about your opinions.

Hi skaanbarry

Welcome to the forums.
Offloading only GFS backups is not possible.
Because we only offload changed blocks, offloading also the incremental backups should not lead to much more storage usage.

If you only want to offload weekly or monthly backups, you could use a different backup copy job (periodic mode) which only copies backups each week to the SOBR.

Thanks

Thank you Milder. I like the idea of creating different backup copy jobs.
