Quick question regarding API Calls when performing backups Directly to Immutable Object Storage

Post by massimiliano.rizzi »

Hello experts and good day,

apologies in advance if this has already been asked.

Please consider the scenario below from the Veeam size calculator available at https://www.veeam.com/calculators/simple/vbr/machines:

==================================================

The object storage repository is Amazon S3 object storage.

Regarding the API Calls estimation in such scenario, the Veeam size calculator provides the estimate number of API Calls for both the first month and the last month. Now regarding the months in between, is it correct to say that the estimate number of API Calls will always be constant due to the Block Generation interval ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks !

Massimiliano, the months in the middle will see a change in the number of api calls based on the growth rate you specify. The block generation mostly affects the putobjectretention calls and the size of the immutability period is the main factor there.
