Hello, I have a problem with Veeam.
We have a scale-out repository on Azure Blog Storage.
Backups are working fine so far.
Now to my problem:
Let's say I delete a VM from Hyper-V.
When I try to restore it, I get the following error message: Restore job failed Error: Failed to start an agent on one of the extents.
It can happen that a VM is deleted by mistake, not only on the Hyper-V but also on the local Hyper-V storage. However, a backup is still on the capacity tier and should then also be able to be restored. Unfortunately, this does not work for us.
Once again: In our lab:
We create a VM.
We create a backup of this VM
The backup is outsourced to Azure
Now:
By mistake, the VM disk is deleted.
The local backup is compromised by a virus.
When we try to restore the VM from the capacity tier, we get this error message: Restore job failed Error: Failed to start an agent on one of the extents.
Is this problem known to anyone who can help?

What is your veeam version?
If you don't use V11a yet, you can perform an update. With Veeam V11a, you can recover a VM directly from the capacity tier without using the performance tier.
That could be a workaround until you have solved the issue with the failed agent starting.
But it's better to let the support technician to decide what to do. Each interfering from our site can make the issue harder to analyze.
