RMAN plugin export to Cloud Object Storage

Post by Alvaro »

Hello

I currently have a physical oracle rac and I do my backups with RMAN which export to ASM.

I know that veeam has a plugin that is installed on the oracle servers and allows directing the backups to the veeam repository.

My question is..Can this repository be cloud object storage? In other words, could I use the veeam plugin for RMAN to send my backups to Cloud object storage?

Thank you

Hi Alan,

At the moment, there is no possibility to offload RMAN plug-in backups to an object storage.
We are researching different methods of implementation of this feature for our future releases but there is no ETA yet.

Thanks!

Hello

are there any news about supporting plug-in backups directly to object storage?

Thanks.

Hi Luis and Welcome to Veeam R&D Forums!

At the moment, you may use the Capacity Tier as a workaround. The direct backup to object storage is our main feature request for all application plug-ins, we're working on it already but I cannot share any information regarding timelines.

Thanks!
