Using Azure Storage Blob as Repo (for BackupCopyJob/ Archive
Hi,
Is this feature out yet or just in v10?
How should this be configured? Is there any guide how to configure it?
What considerations should we have when designing this kind of scenario?
Thanks
Fabio

Re: Using Azure Storage Blob as Repo (for BackupCopyJob/ Arc
Have I unterstood correctly that Azure Blob Storage is supposed to be a Archive-Tier, meaning that I still do the backups on my local storage and then VEEAM replicates the backups - with longer retention policies - to azure blob storage?
If that's a yes (which I think it is), here comes my real question (which i also think has 'yes' as an answer, but I want to be sure): if i create backups using the veeam agent for windows, will i be able to replicate/archive those to azure?
cheers,
thomas

1) Correct, backups will still land on primary extents first.
2) Correct, as long as Scale-Out Backup Repository with Archive Tier is selected as a backup target.

Re: Using Azure Storage Blob as Repo (for BackupCopyJob/ Arc
With this upcoming "archive tier", if I have backups sitting in Azure blob storage, and I need to do a restore, does it pull the entire vbk+vib backup chain back down to my local disks before it can do a restore? It cannot "Mount" them in Azure I assume?
