v12 Question
So I have read in the release V12 will support direct to object storage.
I am thrilled to hear this, but will it allow VeeamZip to object storage?
If yes, will I be able to retrieve a single file from a Windows VM this way?
If not, would a Veeam zip to a local repo, copy to object storage, then retrieval of a single file work?
-As this doesn't go direct to object storage, does this currently work?
Objective. When we delete a VM, we need to keep a copy available for some time. If I need to restore a single file from a file server, I'd prefer not to restore multiple TB from tape. If I could export to tape AND to cloud, I could just grab the necessary files from the cloud and life goes on.
I don't need a backup "Job" or incremental as I am working with a 1 time archive here. VeeamZip is perfect for this feature.
Thanks in advance.

Re: v12 Question
@vmtech123 in v12 object storage can be a target for VeeamZip. You can restore individual files from the restore point created via VeeamZip.

Re: v12 Question
Nice!
So currently running a single 1 time backup would work, or exporting a backup to object storage?

Re: v12 Question
It would, but not directly: both VeeamZIP and exported backups will need to land on Performance Tier first before being offloaded to Capacity Tier. Thanks!

Re: v12 Question
That is no problem. If I can still Veeam zip to a local REPO and then punt it over to object storage this is going to make my life so much better.
V12 will be even better.
Due to requirements I usually want to have a Veeam zip locally so i can send it to tape and cloud anyways instead of preforming 2 Veeam zips so this actually works better for me.
