Hi guys,
We have built an archiver appliance to move the data from the Capacity tier (Quantum ActiveScale S3) to the Archive tier (ActiveScale GLACIER). The specs for the appliance are CPU:8 | Mem: 24 | Disk 200Gb | OS: Ubuntu 23.10. The appliance has filled up its disk pretty quickly, does this appliance cache data before writing to tape?
What is the required specification for Veeam Archiver Appliance? (Disk, memory)
Should I raise the support ticket for this or is this something we need to investigate?

Re: Veeam Archiver Appliance specs? Disk Filling up
Hi Lohith
Looks like that information is not in our user guide yet. Please give me some time to find out the recommended specs.
May I ask, how large is the backup which have to be written to tapes?
Best,
Fabian

Re: Veeam Archiver Appliance specs? Disk Filling up
Hi Lohith
Thanks for your patience.
While discussing the requirement, we found a bug affecting the cache folder. Old caches are not removed from the folder after the archival session. That's why your disk "has filled up quickly". This bug is scheduled to be fixed in one of the next patches.
May I ask you to open a support case and reference to this forum post and bug id 732794 Our QA/RnD teams are already aware of the bug.
Please let me know the case number so I can escalate the case to our QA/RnD teams. We are considering a private fix or workaround to fix the issue.
Best,
Fabian
