vSphere to AWS EC2/S3 SOBR Offload issue
Hi All.
We have a SOBR configured with EC2 as the primary and S3 as the capacity tier. Veeam can backup to both backup repositories (independently) successfully, however when attempting an offload job from EC2 to S3 we are encountering the following error:
resolve: Host not found (authoritative)
In the task logs, this is shown as:
Failed to connect to target endpoint
Client failed to process the command. Command: [connectByIPs].
The task logs show successful retrieval of the certs from S3 during the offload job, and DNS is configured correctly as far as we are aware. We are using IP resolution for the EC2 instance and the EC2 instance has full connectivity to the capacity tier bucket. Permissions have been checked on AWS and Veeam.
Is anyone from the community able to advise on this please?

Cheers
Pete

Re: vSphere to AWS EC2/S3 SOBR Offload issue
Aren't there any security rules that might block communication between components (similar to this issue)? Thanks!

Thanks Vladimir. We have tested opening up security groups both in VMC and on AWS and regrettably the issue remains. Any advice you could offer would be very much appreciated.

I don't think I have anything besides checking the communication chain for basic connectivity issue, but it does not seem to be the case here.
So, let's wait and see what support team suggest after debug log review.
Thanks!

Thanks Vladimir, for the benefit of the forum we identified that a mixture of adding a static route back from the EC2 instance to the Veeam CIDR and a complete reinstall of R&D resolved the issue!
Thanks for your help.
