Wasabi offers a nas type of device which you can obtain and then throw your backup data on and then ship it back like seeding etc... With Veeam, the only real way that I can see to utilize Wasabi (s3 compatible object storage) is with SOBR and offloading.

So my question is, would one of these devices help us at all if we have a low bandwidth site, in order to get the first data out to Wasabi? My guess is no, because we would be circumventing the actual offload tiering job where it hydrates the GFS file and instead placing an entire file out there.

I currently have backup copy job to local nas for all my long term retention stuff, but it makes me nervous because if that RAID array dies I lose years of data. I'd rather have it out in Cloud with SOBR etc.

If it support S3 API to the same extent as Wasabi itself does, then it can be used for seeding.

It mentions having an object storage interface for s3 capable premise platforms. So now that sounds like it could work!
