Hello,
We're new to AWS, and are looking to use it to store our archives.
We have been able to define an AWS Gateway VTL, and successfully
perform a backup to the tape. Is it possible to restore individual files from
the backup that was just stored in AWS?

Hello,
file restore does not exist for tape jobs.
But you can do file restore is you use AWS as capacity or archive tier in a scale out backup repository
